Pomar Junction Vineyard & Winery features wine from our family's estate vineyard near Templeton, California in San Luis Obispo County. This is one the most beautiful areas of the California Central Coast. Our vineyards are planted on soils primarily made up of the Linne Calodo series, which is highly regarded for wine quality. The calcareous soils impart a richness that is reflected by full-bodied, darkly colored red wines.

Pomar Junction harkens back to Templeton at the turn of the century, when the El Pomar District became known for almond and fruit orchards, along with a few growers planting wine grapes. The Southern Pacific Railroad company reached Templeton with its coastal lines and actually built the town. Marsha's grandfather George Grigg was a longtime Southern Pacific Engineer. To honor that heritage, we have on display a boxcar and cupola Caboose in near original condition.

In the end, it is our wines that make us special. In this region cooled by the Templeton Gap afternoon breezes, we can raise Viognier and Syrah, Zinfandel as well as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. All have signature softness to the palette, full body and color that ranks among our regions finest.
