This wine is 100% Merlot made entirely from Estate Grown grapes. The El Pomar District has developed a reputation for what is quite possibly the best Merlot in California.
A full-bodied, complex wine it has blackberry flavors that are seldom seen in commercially produced Merlot wines.

Harvest extended well into the late fall, typical of this vineyard, which experiences the afternoon breezes and climate effects of the Templeton Gap which is open to the Pacific Ocean to the west. The terroir is rounded out with the calcareous Linne Calodo soils.

Complex blackberry flavor components with good tannin structure are prevalent descriptors of this wine.
